This Could Be The Tip You Have Been Waiting For

So many coaches are enthusiastic about the art and craft of coaching. The amazing experience of helping another human live their best life.

It is exciting to think about coaching as a career and embark on that adventure.

But often, what I find missing for many coaches is to include in this new career all the things that they already know, other modalities they have studied, and even completely different types of services they want to offer along with their coaching.

Here is the tip you may have been waiting for if you resonate with that concept …

Like wearing a little black dress or painting your walls off-white — Coaching can be combined with almost anything!

When I first started my coaching career, I knew there were things I wanted to bring with me. I had studied five-element acupuncture for many years, and I wanted to include that ancient philosophy for my clients.

I studied with the Franklin Covey Institute, worked on an executive team, and wanted to apply my knowledge of teams. I also studied with Harville Hendrix and was inspired to incorporate his teaching on relationships into my coaching business.

Yikes … but how and which ones? I got stuck there for a while.

Here is what I learned and what I would love to have you explore with me today. I found I could include anything with coaching as long as I created the structure and boundaries for the people I most wanted to help.

The structure that tied coaching with other modalities and training and the boundaries that made it clear what was pure coaching and where coaching was used to enhance other types of services.

Here is my tip for you.

Take some time to explore and include all the modalities, trainings, ideas you have had that you think would be fun to add to your coaching services.

Now, it’s time for the yes-and-no selection. Which ones are not right for you or your business?

Maybe their time has passed or they were more for your learning as opposed to what you actually want to do. Just say no and let them go. At least for now.

Take another look at your list of ideas and focus on the throughline they might have to your coaching business

It could be the same type of person, a common problem, or a similar dream connecting the dots. Imagine yourself talking about them as a whole. What might you say? How do you see each one fitting together?

Now make a choice to bring one or more of these together. See how that feels. Does it excite you? If so, you are on the right track!

I suggest you play around with this a bit and begin creating the throughline in how you talk about your coaching business with this new element or elements added in. Once you feel the congruence, it is time to make it real and create an offer that is now multi-faceted.
