Inspired Action Brings the Best Results in Your Coaching Business

There’s a conversation that comes up sometimes when coaches are seeking help with their business.

It usually sounds something like this:

“I want to just focus on the business basics.”
“Do we really need all the mindset and soul work?”
“Shouldn’t coaching success just be about strategy, systems, and scaling?”

And while I deeply value good business strategy, I’ve learned something important after years of building a coaching business: A coaching business built only from the head is very difficult to sustain.

Especially if you want your work to feel meaningful, energizing, and aligned with who you truly are.

Recently, a member of our community shared that they were talking to other coaches about our programs and how much they were getting out of them. One of the responses they received was essentially:

“That sounds like a lot of extra stuff. Why not just teach the business basics?”

Another coach shared that they had participated in business training programs that focused almost entirely on spreadsheets, tactics, and strategy — but completely left out the soul component.

Eventually, people burned out. They couldn’t sustain the process, let alone build a business they actually wanted to wake up to every day.

That conversation stayed with me.

Because years ago, I experienced something very similar myself.

I was participating in a business training program where we were asked to define the ultimate promise of our business. We were encouraged to create a powerful, marketable name — something that sounded ambitious.

But when I sat with the question, one phrase came through clearly:

Soul Driven Success.

The program leader immediately pushed back.

“No,” she told me. “You need something more results-oriented. Something bigger. Something like becoming a six- or seven-figure coach.”

But that wasn’t what I wanted.

Of course, I wanted success for my clients. Of course, I wanted prosperity. But I knew, deep in my gut, that success without soul would never feel fulfilling to me.

And I’m so grateful I trusted that inner knowing.

Because the business Curtis and I have built today would not feel the way it does if it were built only from strategy.

It’s the soul component that makes it sustainable.

It’s the soul component that creates real connection.

It’s the soul component that keeps us energized instead of depleted.

It is this one thing that leads to inspired action and the best results!

And honestly? I believe this matters even more in the coaching industry than in almost any other business.

Because coaching is deeply human work.

We are not selling a product sitting on a shelf. We are creating transformation through human connection.

We are offering a transformational shift. We are inviting people into a committed relationship!

People don’t choose coaches simply because of credentials, spreadsheets, or polished marketing funnels.

They choose coaches because something resonates.

They feel truth.

They feel authenticity.

They feel heart.

That’s what creates trust.

And that’s why so many coaches struggle when they try to build their business entirely from their heads.

You can follow every tactical step. You can say all the “right” things. You can create the perfect marketing plan.

But if your message is disconnected from what genuinely matters to you, people will feel that too.

Your audience is not only listening with their mind. They are listening with their heart.

I’ve seen this over and over again with coaches.

The moment they reconnect with what they truly care about — the people they most want to serve, the message they most want to share, the deeper purpose behind their work — everything begins to shift.

Their energy changes. Their confidence changes. Their marketing changes. Their connection with clients changes.

And perhaps most importantly, their business becomes sustainable.

Because when your soul is part of the process, you’re willing to stay with it through the messy parts.

And let’s be honest: building a coaching business is messy.

It requires vulnerability.
Experimentation.
Failure.
Risk.
Growth.

You will try things that don’t work. You will create offers people don’t immediately understand. You will have moments of doubt. That’s normal. But here is the good news.

That inner connection becomes fuel.

I often think about soul-driven business in this order:

Soul first.
Then strategy.

First, listen to what feels true. Listen to what lights you up. Listen to what feels aligned and deeply meaningful.

Then let your mind support it.

Use strategy to bring your vision into form. Use structure to support what your heart already knows.

Not the other way around.

So if you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in your coaching business lately, I want to gently encourage you to pause and ask yourself:

Where have I become too focused on the “shoulds”?
Where have I disconnected from what really matters to me?
What part of my business feels genuinely alive?

And then get curious.

Because often, the very thing your soul has been quietly trying to tell you is the thing that will move your business forward.

Not just successfully. But sustainably. Authentically. And joyfully.

I would love to support you in your unique soul strategy approach to business building. Please reach out if you are ready to grow your business!
