Imagine you are inserting a destination into your GPS. You are heading to a place you have been dreaming of for a long time.
Imagine this place involves your coaching business.
You know where you want to go, you can picture yourself having work that is prosperous and fulfilling.
It feels darn good!
There is just one thing missing.
In order for your GPS system to work. In order to actually arrive at the destination point you are aiming for.
You need to also insert your current location.
In the work I do with my clients who want to create a successful business, the mistake they most often make is this. They know where they want to go but they aren’t clear on their current location.
So they start with an inaccurate location on their stage of business and even though they do a lot of cool things, and smart things, they don’t end up at destination point success.
This is something I learned the hard way I must admit.
Lots and Lots of cool things and smart things that went nowhere. Wondering why I kept circling around and never landing where I wanted. The scientist in me wanted to figure it out so I did a ton of research on the coaching industry and other similar businesses to see where I was making my mistake.
It became clear to me that I was doing things out of the natural order.
In metaphorical terms, I wanted to pick the apples before the tree was ready to produce them.
It can be super-frustrating to be putting effort into your business when it doesn’t bear the fruit you want.
