Marketing a coaching business requires that you walk a fine line. You want to give people hope. I believe that is one of the most positive aspects of marketing for me.
Giving people hope that they can face their challenges, hope that they can make a dream come true, hope that they can become the best version of themselves.
On the other side of the line is REALITY. You also want to be transparent. Some people will not be willing to do what it takes to make a dream a reality.
Some people may have challenges they just don’t want to work through because they like being in their comfort zone.
Some dreams take a long time, and most people don’t want to hear that. They want the quick fix, the easy way out.
I find this is true for my business and it is a challenge I face a lot when talking to coaches who are interested in my business training program.
I currently offer my program with a 6-month minimum time frame. Not because it takes just 6 months to create a successful business.
But because that is a time frame that appeals to people, and I know if they put in the time and effort they will benefit greatly from my training course, leadership and support of an amazing community.
I am hosting my annual marketing workshop on April 14th. Yes, this is a plug!
I love this workshop! It is called Activate Your Marketing. I love it because I get to share my wisdom and my love of marketing a coaching business. It is all about delivering a message of hope that is based in reality.
I am reminded of my experience from my days in the fruit business. We grew these pears that, for some reason, were just plain ugly, but they tasted amazingly good.
When we sold them at the farmers markets, we would promote them as UGLY PEARS. Not hiding the fact of their appearance.
We talked about how delicious they were, which was true but we also did a little spinning of the story to make purchasing them something fun.
Many of our customers started asking about these pears early in the season and they were a best seller.
I felt in integrity with this because I was telling the truth and giving people some extra joy with their purchase.
When I started learning about marketing for my coaching business, I was inspired to discover that I could bring my most precious message about love and how it works to encourage people to give my coaching services a try.
Over the two decades I have been marketing successfully, I have grown in my appreciation of this fact.
The coaches in my program are bringing something positive to this world. A much-needed message of hope.
Coaching is a unique and powerful modality that helps people learn and grow and have a positive impact on others.
As we head into spring this year, I encourage you to look at the messages that inspire you most. The ones that bring you hope about your reality.
Then look at what you care about most and craft your own message. One that helps you to grow your coaching business and brings your own truth about what is possible to those who need it most.
If you want to have some fun and get inspired yourself, please join me on April 14th at 11 AM PT for my Activate Your Marketing Workshop. It’s free to members of our Soul Driven Success Community (also free!).
You will explore your marketing mindset and get tips on how to create your message with a community of like-minded coaches.
I hope to see you there!
